Description

Hi! I’m Sofia, a Finnish rider looking for a horse to ride regularly. I don’t speak Dutch, so I’m hoping to find an owner who is comfortable communicating in English. I’m 166 cm tall and weigh 65 kg.

I recently sold my horse after having horses of my own for over 10 years. My background includes international show jumping competitions up to 1.20 m, dressage and riding young horses. I’m happy to share videos of my riding so you can get a feel for how I ride.

I’m comfortable with different types of horses, but finding the right match is important to me. I enjoy dressage, jumping and varied work, though a dressage-only arrangement would suit me just as well. The possibility of occasionally taking lessons at my own expense would be a lovely bonus. I’d also be open to competing if that suited the horse and owner, but it isn’t a requirement.

I value patient, consistent riding, soft hands and clear aids. I enjoy working on the basics and taking the time to understand each horse rather than rushing progress. I’m always happy to learn and take guidance from the owner or their trainer, and I would respect your routines and wishes for your horse. Slow horses, hot horses - I can manage with any kind of! I prefer horses that don't bolt or rear or don't do anything super crazy - my cowboy times are behind and I appreciate nice buddy to train with. Horses that occasionally spook or have character are okay!

Having owned horses for many years, I’m familiar with daily care, looking after equipment and the responsibility involved. I’d love to build a connection with a horse and a trusting, straightforward relationship with their owner.

I sold my horse partly to reduce my monthly expenses, so I’m looking for a shared arrangement rather than the financial commitment of full ownership or a full lease. However - I’m happy to contribute financially and understand that a lovely, well-trained horse comes at a cost. I am also happy to pay for lessons with a professional chosen by owner.

I live in Rijswijk and work in Hoofddorp so hope to find something close by or middle of these two. I have my own car. I prefer jumping saddle and I have my own quality saddle (Renaissance), that I would like to use if it ofc fits the horse if only dressage saddle is available.
